Retrofit

Capital City Partnership and City Region Deal Edinburgh & South East

summary of project

In partnership with Capital City Partnership and City Region Deal Edinburgh and South East Scotland, Media Education was commissioned to create a short film, TV advert and social media clips for a video campaign to raise awareness about Retrofit, encouraging audiences to take their own actions to address the climate crisis and help achieve net zero. The films were launched as part of an online campaign and the TV advert was aired on STV and ITVX.

In close consultation with Capital City Partnership, Media Education worked on the storyboarding, interviewee selection, shooting and editing of the film project. This required creative sessions with the partners of the project, as well as carefully facilitating and filming interviews with selected speakers. People’s knowledge, expertise, lived experience and stance were key to the overall narrative of the film and social media clips. With inclusivity and accessibility in mind, it was important to demonstrate the potential impact Retrofit has to benefit the whole community in terms of the economy and jobs, reducing our energy use and our carbon footprint, helping people with the cost of living and enabling us to have warmer homes and workplaces.

There is a BSL version of the film.
