POST:                          Project Coordinator

LOCATION:                  Media Education Ltd, 183 Dalry Road, EH11 2EB

SALARY:                      £20,500 pro-rata depending on experience

RESPONSIBLE TO:      Media Education Charity Board and Project Manager appointed from Media Education Ltd

HOURS:                        2 days per week

LENGTH OF POST:      Fixed term contract for 12 months

AIMS OF POST:  The charity is seeking to appoint a Project Coordinator for its Festival Radio Project.   Young people from across the city will be given broadcast radio training to report from Edinburgh’s many Festivals throughout one year.  Participants will produce podcasts for the web and radio broadcasts for community radio stations.  The coordinator will:

– liaise with project partners

– manage the project timeline

– assist with organising workshops and delivery of training to participants

– manage all administration including finance and budget monitoring

– report to the Media Education Charity Board at regular intervals

– manage and monitor web based aspects

– support a volunteer programme for project participants.

 

We are looking for someone who has:

– confidence in speaking with a range of project partners, young people, services

– previous project coordination/ management experience

– experience of working with young people

– enthusiasm about giving young people the chance to maximise their potential

– confidence in using social media to effectively increase the project’s outreach.
