Is There Enough Being Done? East Lothian’s Young People Explore Youth Unemployment

A team of young people from East Lothian have been working with Media Education as part of the Activity Agreements run by East Lothian Council.  Over the past few months the team have been learning video production techniques and using them to create a film exploring the barriers to employment for young people.

They have used their new skills to interview Angela Constance MSP,  Minister for Youth Employment as well as local employers and have flexed their creative muscles by writing a script that included filling a skip with young people. They organised their own Premiere at the Town House in Haddington in the hope of sharing their film with those in a position to change things.

All the team have been impressed by the dedication shown by the team, they’ve been great to have round the office and we’re sure they’ll go on to greater things!
