As Festival Radio Scotland comes to a close for the 2014/15 year, our star reporter Hannah Stewart produced a last set of broadcasts, reporting from the Scottish National Galleries of Modern Art about their current exhibitions and what’s on this summer.
On the 6th of July, Festival Radio Scotland set itself up at the unique Pig Rock Bothy in the grounds of Modern One. While there, Hannah interviewed curators and staff about Modern Two’s ‘The Amazing World of M.C. Escher’ and what else the Galleries are up to over the summer, as well as interviewing local artist, David Faithfull, about his fascinating print exhibition “Oak”.
The National Galleries of Scotland had this to say about our visit:
“The National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) were thrilled to welcome members of Festival Radio Scotland to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. We hope the opportunity to interview various figures – such as curators, security staff, graphic designers and artists like David Faithfull – provided a greater insight and understanding of the overall Galleries, and that the skills learned and experience gained will have boosted the confidence of the Festival Radio Scotland team. We look forward to working with them on various projects in the near-future”.

As always, you can check out all of our Festival Radio Scotland broadcasts on our SoundCloud profile, or listen to Hannah’s broadcasts below. And fear not, although our Young Start funding for Festival Radio Scotland has come to its end, we’re taking on a new lease of life as ‘Festival Radio’ and running a series of workshops and events from ‘the Space’ at Media Education over the summer.
